Research
In AP Research, students are assessed on the academic paper and presentation and oral defense of research. The academic paper is 4000–5000 words (75%), and the presentation and defense take approximately 15–20 minutes (25%). This is the second course in the AP Capstone experience (with AP Seminar being the prerequisite).
The research topic that you choose will often depend on the way your AP course is formatted, what's feasible, and what you're interested in.

Collegeboard has listed past academic papers and presentations that you can use as a guide for your own project. Make sure to check the scoring for those papers and presentations to get an idea of what to do/what not to do.
